Wine Tasting Experience

Lose yourself in the tastes and landscapes of Sicily with this tour of the De Gregorio and Barbera wineries. You will taste Gourmet wines that express our land: on the one hand, native grapes, with their black Prince ‘Avola’, the elegant Inzolia and the Grillo with all their scents. On the other hand, international vines: Chardonnay that matures in wood, Merlot and Cabernet that draw their uniqueness from the strength of our sun

The program is:

Pick up at hotel by your English speaking driver.

Drive to Menfi where you will visit the Barbera Winery with Marilena Barbera. Vines living so close to the ocean that they can turn sea brine into vibrant tasty salinity. Vineyards that enjoy mild winters and warm dry summers, and amazing temperature ranges between night and day. Ripe berries, tasty and sweet, that smell of sunshine and of a gentle Mediterranean wind.
Lunch will be served at De Gregorio Winery. Then enjoy a wine tour with the oenologist in the countryside among the rows, with the opportunity to help our peasantry while harvest or prune a vineyard. Tasting from the barrels our Chardonnay that slowly mature before it is bottled or our Nero d’Avola just decanted from the large barrels.
Climb to the top of the tower like ancient guardians, to look over the territory of Sciacca, Kronio mountain, the beach and the mythical Selinunte, and from there looking over our vineyards and our olive groves.
Visit the ancient ‘700 winery, today became a tasting hall, waiting for the chef to prepare traditional Sicilian dishes to be matched with our wines.

Afternoon will be at leisure to enjoy some shopping in Sciacca.
